The Cycle of Denigration

Words wielded to belittle and berate,
A poison tongue that seeks to undermine.
How easily we learn to denigrate.

With whispered slurs, we cultivate
A garden where no kindness can entwine.
Words wielded to belittle and berate.

Our cruel remarks accumulate,
Eroding worth with every harsh design.
How easily we learn to denigrate.

We tear down others to inflate
Our fragile egos, thinking we’ll shine.
Words wielded to belittle and berate.

But in this cycle, we create
A world where empathy can’t align.
How easily we learn to denigrate.

It’s time we choose to elevate,
To lift each other and redefine.
Words wielded to belittle and berate —
How easily we learn to denigrate.
